ONE YEAR ON: “Blessings and thanks to all members of the parish for their support, care and love. It is amazing how quickly a year has flown by since the Archbishop collated me to be your Rector. Join with me in praying that our God will continue to bless our community of faith as we step out into the future.” Fr Richard.

FLOWERS: Money has been received towards the cost of flowers from Jean Castle for her birthday.

PARISH BREAKFAST: There will be a fund-raising breakfast after each Mass today, at a price of R30 per person.

THANKS: The thanks of the parish go to those who gave of their time and materials to redecorate the toilet block in the Hall in the week past. Their efforts have not only tidied up an area that had become very scruffy, but also dealt with some much needed maintenance.

ROSTERS: The July to December rosters, for those doing sidesperson duties and those hosting the refreshments in the Hall after Mass, are available at the back of the church. There are separate rosters for the 8:00 am Mass and the Parish Mass.

ENTERTAINING ANGELS
: For the next few weeks please could you bring tins of fish, baked beans, sweet corn or spaghetti for the basket. Thanks.

PLEDGED GIVING SCHEME: The envelopes for the second half of the year are ready for collection at the back of the church. If you use this method to support God’s work in this Parish, please pick up your envelopes on your way out of church this morning.

HOSTING AFTER MASS: The roster of Hosts for after Mass needs to be drawn up for the next six months. If you would like to be a host after either Mass on a Sunday please let the Rector know. The host supplies some eats and the milk for the tea and coffee. If you are currently on the roster and would like to be left off please let the Rector know.

ENTERTAINING ANGELS: For the next few weeks please could you bring bags of lentils, split peas or barley for the basket. Thanks.

CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION: The Procession of Witness followed a new route this year, and raised a fair amount of interest from neighbours and those visiting cafes along Lower Main Road. We are particularly thankful to the Cape Town City Traffic section for the two patrol cars sent to accompany us. Some photos of the procession have been loaded onto the St Michael’s group page on Facebook.

ST MICHAEL’S INSTITUTE: The first course offered by the SMI was held last Saturday. There were 30 participants, spread across parishes and churches.

EVENSONG AND BENEDICTION: This evening there will be the usual monthly Evensong and Benediction at 7:00 pm.

CORPUS CHRISTI: Next Sunday, the 14th June, we will keep the feast of Corpus Christi. After the Solemn Mass at 10:30 there will be a Procession of Witness through the streets of the parish, returning to the Church for Benediction. The route for the Procession will be along St Michael’s Rd, turning left into Lower Main Rd, along through the village to Trill Rd, where we will turn left. Turning left into Herschel we will pass Pepper Square. Crossing Station Rd, we go along Drake, left into Collingwood, then right in Howe, and back to the church.

REQUIEM: There will be a Requiem for Flo Woodruff, a long time member of the Parish, on Friday, the 12th June, at 12:30 pm.

FUNDRAISING: Well done on the amount of R907 made through the sale of boerewors rolls and chips last Sunday.

TRINITY LUNCH: A thank you to the parishioners who have supported the Trinity Sunday lunch - all the tickets have been sold. Purchasing tickets up front makes the catering so much easier.  This support is much appreciated and we hope to see similar support for future events.

SOME FURTHER FUNDRAISING EVENTS:
•    In July we will have a parish breakfast.
•    In August there will be a Bingo afternoon. We need prizes for this and would appreciate receiving any unwanted gifts as soon as possible.
The fundraising group will meet on Saturday 20 June at 1.30 pm in the hall.
